Republican Chris McGowan and Democrat Dave Dawson met Sept. 30 in a one-hour KTIV/Gray Media debate in Sioux City. Iowa Public Radio and Iowa Capital Dispatch report clear policy differences but a deliberately civil tone. On fuel costs, McGowan emphasized greater domestic energy production and reviving Keystone XL; Dawson emphasized ending the U.S. war with Iran.
